Heh well I'm new, and a bit lost, though there isn't say a 'welcome newcomer' section to this forum. Why is that I wonder?

Hmm I'm not sure the only thing I was hoping for in the forum was something similar to a welcome center...
something with the title "new users" or something like that..initially a place to greet people who are brand new to the site.
