Transformation contest 2008
With the site reopening (see below), I considered the occasion as an opportunity to announce the 2008 edition of the Dragoniade Transformation Contest. Last year, the contest has been held in Deviant Art and went pretty smoothly. But with the site's new gallery opening, this year, it will be held here.
Once again, I will be the happy/surprised/unhappy (victim?) of a transformation. The transformed will be me, and the transformation must be either into a animal or creatures featured in any media, a character specie featured in any media, an alteration to match a character or specie from any media, or through a trigger from any media. So this isn't just restricted to animal transformation. Body alteration (growth, extra arms, muscle, etc) are accepted too, as long it respect the mentioned rule. Mind you, human to human TF without an alteration doesn't count.
Need some examples?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
And so on. As you can see, the transformation concept isn't necessarily in the media in question, as long as the character isn't human (Free Willy, Black Stallion). If you can find a media featuring a non-human character or a trigger for a transformation and then you're set. It can be any media, from Lilo & Stitch's experiment to any Final Fantasy monster; from the Spider-man Comic to the Choose Your Own Adventures books. The choices are yours.
Simply submit your choice as described above, with the media name and trigger chosen.
This time, prize will involve money alongside site content:
If you have any question, feel free to post them in the forum.
It has been almost 3 years since our hiatus, but I finally made it to new version, namely Shadowlord and Dragoniade 3.0. After countless days of programming, donations, ad hominem attacks, contest, supports, insults, I've reach the completion of this new release.
Yes, I've made an art gallery. You have to remember that the site initially got on hiatus for the lack of recognition and the increasing worshiping of transporn artists, while good or potentially good artists where being rejected. At almost mid point, I decided that there has to be an alternative to the single art gallery that is Transfur, which was slowly drifting to the level of transporn and bribes. Time has proven me right and a few peoples showed interested in an alternative that was transformation or anthropomorphic centered. And what are the alternatives anyway? deviantArt is know to have poor moderators and to be filled with fanarts. Furaffinity is a smut site, a nesting place for pedophile. Furry Art Piles is gradually reaching the level of Furaffinity in term of porn.
Thus, the gallery will accept 3 types of arts: transformation, anthropomorphism (read NOT zoomorph) and creatures/monsters. The gallery will also accepts fan arts, since a lot of the site features are about shows and comics characters. However, the fanarts will have to give full credits to the original creator and show some respect to him. There will also be a 10% limit over what is considered medium adult content, so that the gallery don't turn into another Transfur, but still offer a safe place to browse.
Officially, I offer my thanks to everyone that donated in the past 3 years and offered their support. By now, everyone that have donated or won the 2007 transformation contest should have received an email with a sponsor code, which should be entered during registration. This code will grant you access to more download bandwidth than a simple registered user. Since I'm sort of starting at zero with the clips, an extra 3 months has been added to every code. However, there are some exceptions...
While there has been people patiently waiting for the site to be completed, people actually making the effort to send me an email or an instant message for a status update, or simply visiting one of the 4 places where I was putting update information, there are other people, members of the scummunity as I called it, that couldn't resist to drag me in the tar for the whole duration of the conversion. As a reminder, I called scummunity a sub-group of a community expressing huge chauvinism toward the other sub-group. For example, age change people calling animal TF people bestialist, animal TF calling Age Change people pedophile, male chauvinism toward woman through humiliating or diminishing transformation. One in particular was so chauvinist that they constantly attacked me because I wasn't putting update to their site, or that my work sucked because the site wasn't strictly doing their fetish content. Some of them even went as far as putting criminal accusation on me, such as fiscal fraud, homosexuality and drug usage. Even though I was putting updates on 4 locations (The old Shadowlord's forum, the metamorphorum, live journal and Deviantart with progress sample), all was void because I wasn't reporting to them... To the troll at such place, I either removed their donation or put a permanent ban on them. Should anyone notice any of those users to manage to successfully access the site, please notify me immediately: Soty, Tf-Viewer, Sutibary, Trunkated, TheJackingMan. Explicit explanation of the reason of the ban will only be disclosed upon demand. I'm also open to discussion, if mediation is possible.
But back to more cheerful updates. Considering the share sheer amount of video that has to be uploaded, I won't be able to do it all at once, especially with all the new clips that have been made in the past 3 years. This is one of the reasons it took so long. With the full time jobs in the way, I was still working on locating and capturing any new contents aired in Canada, remaking old half-screen video to full screen video on rerun, and so. Therefore, I have as today up to 4375 clips that are either new or recaptured, for a total of 36Gb, which is roughly the half the size of the old archive (10500 clips, 58Gb). I will try, from now on upload the AVI of a show every 1 day or 2, depending of the number of AVI of that show, or part of a new show, since some, like Class of the Titans, count 105 clips. As the clips get available for download, please show some respect for the efforts put on the site and do not repost the clips you're downloading to a video sharing site such as You Tube. While You Tube seem the easy and cheesy solution for a few persons, the video quality is really poor and the content totally impersonal, unsorted and is drowned among millions of piss poor videos. And as one subbing group said: Broadcast Yourself, not You Tube.
