So I've pitched two earlier shows to CBC radio with the expected
results-rejection

No. 3 will probably go the way of the other two. However I realized
that for the first time the Canadians who will run and participate in
the bicentennial have been being born since about 2005 or thereabouts.
The terrible twos, the toddler 3-4's and the fumbling 5's just happen to be
around at the same time the folk who ran and participated in the first Centennial
are still alive.

By 2067 todays smart ass teens and twenty somethings will be drooling old farts
in old age homes, not really of importance by 2067.

So what I suggested to CBC radio is its never too early to prepare for the
BiCentennial,as what you entertain the kiddies with in 2010/2011 will be recalled
fondly and perhaps have a influence on what the late 50/60 somethings do in 2067.

When I was a young un,all I had to worry about was the ghost of a headless woman,
whilst todays toddlers have got internet porn, army guys in womens lingerie, etc

the notion that guys in lingerie could have a long lasting reach on what goes on in 2067
seems rather repellant,so in the pitch i effectively ignored current internet cultural values
and settled on the 'ghost',or in this case a dragon conversing in rhyme, rhyme that has double
meanings.
" I do plan to get more TF sketch done for Fur Fright. This will be a change to what I find online. There's much satisfaction there."

A question to muse over

Who in 2110AD ( a century from now) do you want to possess
those ink and paper (I'll assume) fur fright drawings?
Should anyone get this dvd,I'd suggest getting the 2 disc special edition.
This is a multilayered film and you really need the 2nd disc of commentary
( about as long as the movie itself) to clue into much of the depth of the movie.
otherwise it'll just seem like
Free Willy X Eragon
at first glance

( eg
in the deleted radio scene the announcer subtitles read something like
...scales of justice....besieged fortress....the firestorm....crept forward...

and you realize the script writer snuck "a nazi dragon attacking the castle"

in his script
Impression I have is that the Transfur admin has figured out that the artsts are
incapable of producing advancing tf art anymore. He's got a real life to live, and doesn't
want to waste anymore of his time playing the Quality Nazi when its clear the
TF Art creatives have slipped into reruns.

He's essentially saying "I quit.Do what you like."
'old school'

if i had to explain why 4-8 year olds can imagine
themselves as another character ) transformation without actual transformation)
i'd say its based on developing a young childs empathy for use in later life
doubt it.

eg

over the last week or so CBC radio has been broadcasting the prurient
details of CFB russel williams
who apparently spent his free time breaking into homes and videoing himself running
about in the stolen womens underwear
a situation that led him to rape and murder two woman

basically williams is the
Fetishist from Hell

the thing is a great deal of the tf community is fetish oriented

which means the mainstream culture sees pictures of williams prancing about
in stolen womans underwear, and the tf community is not going to be viewed with
love and affection after the williams affair.

-maybe tf fanbays are baby
Fetishists from Hell?

which means mainstream culture will look upon this site with increasing dislike and hatred over time
whilst the tf fanboys will demand more fetishy stuff

hence the site is doomed in the long run.the mainstream culture
won't support it(more likely seek its destruction)
whilst the tf crowd will keep demanding more fetish stuff that can only make mainstream
culture even more furious towards the site
ShadyIMG wrote:Yeah. It is sad to see that most of the time, people look to TF for porn and stuff. I am also a bit on the guilty side, but I'm more into how the female body changes, I.E. The Ludmilla dragon TF, rather than something getting shoved into her you know what.

Thanks again for your continued dedication to just regular TF , and take your time to do whatever you want on the site. I continue to wait patiently.

It's only 'regular tf' if mainstream culture goes along with that notion.
The harsh reality is Dragoniade is working on a website dedicated to 'regular tf'
that mainstream culture didn't buy into.

So a quick education on snake-maiden transformation narratives
both centuries old and months/years old

The archtype plot goes something like this

King Dad has a loving family with a hero son/boyfriend and his beautiful
meek/bratty princess daughter

Mom dies and King Dad marries the Bad Queen.Who ticked off
over beauty/reproductive issues hauls her step-daughter to the
cave or over the cliff,a process that transforms the step-daughter into
a dragon/serpent/worm/white snake

Hero son/boyfriend hears that theres trouble in the land he
left and comes sailing back and disenchants his sister/love

Then everyone gangs up on the Bad Queen and burn/transform her
into a toad/wormthing

Modern commercial authors seem to have a hands off policy towards
a detailed transformation scene. However they still stick to the spirit
of the thing by retaining the various motifs found in the traditional tales

eg
Borchardts "The Dragon Queen" 2003
The Dragons desperate for a human ally, back Guinivere in her attempt to
become the next Queen of the Picts.Guinivere dances over the cliff edge and
dances in the air before returning to solid ground again.
common elements with the old tales
dragons
a potential plunge off a cliff
her name is similar to that of a oldtimer-Blonde Esmeree
King Arthurs mom fits the bill of a Bad Queen
shes raised by a family of wolvish shapeshifters and her step brother
is the one doing the tf'g in the novel

Bad in Bad Queen means ineffective/broken,rather then evil

Hence though Guinevere doesn't tf into a dragon, the novel
shares enough of the plot elements from the traditional
snake-maiden medievel literature that one can call
"The Dragon Queen" a modern snake-maiden transformation narrative
picked up from the filmakers commentary in the special features section
of the dvd

the original dragons name was helogg

the man into dragon tf was supposed to feature humour as the man tf'd into a smaller dragon but budget
constraints nixed that

the peasants at the beginning are not the same as the peasants in the
people revert clip

its inspired by the star wars movies

the script is part of a trilogy

the leading man is a welsh horsewranger
who seems to have done some stunt work and other roles in the
finished product

this one was originally clocked in at about 2 hours 20 minutes
but budget constraints sent some
of it to the cutting room floor
years ago i'd acquired 20 or so cheap carbon pencils.had lots of paper and
ink so

well back in the end of 2005/beginning 2006 i'd been operating under the notion
that there was such as thing as a
'internet amateur tf clip' making community out there, ready to be served.the original dragoncrypt
was a cel archive using a complex indexing system so one series of cels could be attached to others, and i've added the video editor and
sound tracks in the 2 websites.it was essentially a mechano set so amateurs could make all the
little clips they wanted, modify the ones i'd stored in the cel archive and let the thing
develop.of course that baby was stillborn.

then after i'd seen a episode of sorcerous stabber orphen i got enthralled with its artistry
(which used a sophisticated 'poof' tf)
and spent another quarter year or so scanning and uploading about a
gigabytes worth of cels using a storyboard camera pov indexing system
featuring sea serpente iron boats thundering therough the waves and lots of non tf scene animations

still a dud as far as attracting the attention of any amateur tf videomakers

the killer came about a year later when i discovered videos i had slammed out in a hour with suggestive
fetish titles were attracting more viewers than the considerably technically and artistically
superior frostfang video.

that was pretty well the end of any hopes i'd had for the existence of a amateur tf clip community

http://rackmountmart.stores.yahoo.net/2udiskarray.html

I'd guess about $1,800 for a brand new one
What should you do?

Hmmm

1) do a little research on the science of lip reading
2) get artists and other to draw "Dragoniades " in various stages of speech( moving lips)
3)determine what cels are required to visually have "Dragoniades " lips form the word
"hello"
4)create a computer program ( a text to lip speech engine)so that when someone types
in the word "Hello" the engine will pull up the required sequence of "Dragoniade" speech
cels and produce a short animation of a animated "Dragoniade" saying the word "hello"
5)build it up from there
archive.org's last version of planetfur.com

April 19 2008 post on teaser list
(If I can pare it down to five lines or less it'll go back up,if not....)
Anyways had some free time so I sized the tf images to a common
base using the a)space between the bikini top and bottomb)the height of
Brian andc)the width between two cracks in the cave entrance
to get the percentages each tf image of the wife needed to be adjusted
to get them all to the same proportion size

Though the artist called it a short tf
I suspect that for a artist to do
a)get humour out of a taletype thats noted for angsty cursed tragedy
b)get all the characters in a believable dialog
c)put in the minor background details
d)hint at her growth spurt by the shadow that shows up above
the cave entrance as Brians mom hangs up on him at the bottom
of Page 2

was either one of those lucky coinciding of lots of stuff
or not quite as short as it looks at first glance
